USRowing Forms Partnership with OARS Program to Offer Corporate Leadership Development and Team Building Sessions
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — USRowing is partnering with the Seattle-based OARS Program to offer corporate leadership development and team-building opportunities through the sport of rowing, USRowing Executive Director John H. Dane and OARS founder Marilyn Krichko announced Monday.
The OARS Program is a hands-on, experimental learning program that applies rowing principles to building leadership and high performance teams. Using the OARS Program Handbook & Exercises© and Team Management Systems' assessment tools, participants actively apply their learning to problem solving, risk taking, communication, resource utilization, and building trust to drive business results in a diverse work place. Workshops, which are available world-wide, range from one to three days, in either contiguous or split sessions, and can be integrated with existing meetings, conferences, educational and other activities to fit the individual corporation's needs.
Within the new partnership, USRowing will be providing the OARS Program with a more in-depth reach into the rowing community and will be identifying boathouses and certified coaches to participate in the sessions. The OARS Program will require USRowing membership for all participants and USRowing will receive additional exposure to corporate executives.
"We are pleased to establish this partnership with the OARS Program," Dane said. "It exposes more corporate executives to rowing in a structured training environment and provides the basis for their ongoing interest in the sport."
"We are very excited to have the opportunity to leverage the expertise of USRowing and increase their visibility into organizations," Krichko said. "Combined with our faculty we will provide corporate leaders with a competitive, challenging environment to help them drive productivity and efficiencies throughout their organization."
USRowing is the non-profit membership organization recognized by the United States Olympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the U.S. USRowing's Official Patron is Concept2, its Official Electronics Outfitter is Nielsen Kellerman, its Official Suppliers are NIKE, Inc., Filippi Boat Manufacturer/Elite Rowing, Inc. and BOC Advertising, and its Preferred Printer is Sport Graphics Printing.
